Common Chmod Options

Understanding chmod +x

The chmod +x command adds execute permission to a file or directory. This allows the file to be run as a program or script, or allows a directory to be searched. It's commonly used when you download a script or compile a program and need to make it executable. For example, after creating a bash script, you might run 'chmod +x myscript.sh' to make it executable.
